Who can use NextVox

NextVox is open to students in grades 1–12, anywhere in the world. If you’re under 13, we ask that a parent or guardian know you’re using the site and help you set up your account — nothing here requires their signature, we just want a grown-up in the loop for our youngest contributors.

Your work stays yours

You own everything you submit. By publishing a piece on NextVox, you’re giving us permission to display it on the site (and promote it — for example, on our social media) — you are not signing away your copyright. You can ask us to take a piece down at any time; see our Privacy Policy.

Originality & plagiarism

Everything you submit has to be your own original work. That means:

• ✓No copying, tracing, or lightly editing someone else’s writing or art and submitting it as your own
• ✓No generative AI in the creative process or the final piece — spell-check and grammar tools are fine, AI-written or AI-drawn content is not
• ✓Fan art and fan fiction are welcome, but the creative work — the writing, the drawing — has to be yours

If a published piece turns out to violate this, we’ll remove it. Repeated or intentional plagiarism may mean losing the ability to submit to NextVox.

What doesn’t belong here

Our editors read every submission before it’s published, and reject anything that’s hateful, sexually explicit, violent, harassing, or otherwise not appropriate for a general audience of students and families. This is a judgment call our editorial team makes, and their decision on what gets published is final.

Accounts

You’re responsible for keeping your account secure — don’t share your sign-in link or password with anyone else. We can suspend or remove an account that violates these terms.

No guarantees

NextVox is run by a volunteer, student-led team. We do our best to keep the site up, review submissions promptly, and get things right — but we’re not able to promise the site will always be available or error-free, and we’re not liable for issues arising from its use, to the extent allowed by law.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we’ll update the date at the top of this page. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, USA.
